CALGARY BLACK FILM FESTIVAL

The Calgary Black Film Festival is back for the third edition. The festival kicks off with an exciting red carpet event at the Globe Cinema on Friday, May 26. There are variety of ticket options including VIP Opening Night tickets, All Access passes and single film tickets. This year's festival includes BLACK AS U R, SHEEP’S CLOTHING, COLOR BLIND, KALKIDANE and the Fabienne Colas Foundation’s BEING BLACK IN CANADA short film series. In addition to the films, the CBFF BLACK MARKET – an industry series where renowned industry professionals share real-world experience on today’s most critical film making and social issues – will present an exciting blend of panel discussions. CONTEMPORARY CALGARY - LOOK 2023

LOOK is back on June 3, 2023! A night of amazing fashion, entertainment, art experiences and one of the most coveted art auctions in the country, LOOK is an event where the energy is palpable, and the community comes together in support of Contemporary Calgary’s ambitious programs and exhibitions. LOOK is an evening inspired by the art and people that bring the community together. Dress in your best "wearable art" and lean into the Brutalist Fashion movement. NOT IN MY CITY - WAY OUT WEST FEST PRESENTS BUFFALO BONES

Join us in raising awareness and funds for #NotInMyCity at Way Out West Fest Presents Buffalo Bones. The evening will include an intimate concert by Paul Brandt, a western fashion show by Cody & Sioux, delectable canapés from Deane House and a celebration of western culture. Decidedly Jazz Danceworks - BLACK AND WHITE BALL

Decidedly Jazz Danceworks' annual fundraiser is back! A one of a kind evening where guests gather in their Black & White finest and dance the night away to live music by Penguins on Broadway and DJ Spacy Jay and the Moonlight Trumpet, enjoy impromptu performances by the DJD Company and guests, bid on fantastic items in the silent auction and more! The 2023 Event will be even more glamorous as one of the first events in the newly renovated and elegant Crystal Ballroom at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel.

DEANE HOUSE- ROSÉ AND CROQUET

Get ready for the party of the season! Rosé and Croquet is back at Deane House. Dress in your best garden party attire or modern west outfit and your favourite fascinator or hat for your chance to win a prize. RODNEY'S OYSTER HOUSE - OYSTER FEST

Join us for the fourth annual Oyster Fest in support of The Mustard Seed. Enjoy a live DJ, food and drink booths, a silent auction and shucking competitions for both professionals and amateurs. The winner of the professional competition will win a trip to the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival in Prince Edward Island to compete in the Canadian Oyster Shucking Championship!

BIZ DOJO - THE BIZ DOJAM

The Biz Dojo Podcast is closing out its sixth season with a live podcast episode and concert in support of the Calgary Food Bank. Local Laundry co-founder, Connor Curran will join the Biz Dojo crew for the finale episode, followed by a concert by The Morning Girls and the Mic Socks and The Steadies. Expect a rockin' evening for a good cause with lots of opportunity to network, enjoy a drink at Tailgunner and help give back to great cause!

YOUTH SINGERS OF CALGARY - 50/50

KEEP THE GRIND - A SUMMER'S NIGHT

The inaugural A Summer’s Night Music Festival is an entire day and night of music exploration, connection and culture. The festival showcases an outstanding lineup of local and international R&B and HipHop artists. Set to take place in the West End of Calgary’s downtown, the outdoor music festival takes place overlooking the city's skyline and iconic Bow River.
