Ellen Parker is a business women and the proud owner and CEO of PARKER PR. She is a diverse communications practitioner with over 15 years of professional experience in Canada and the US. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications: Public Relations from Mount Royal University.
Her career includes working in New York City for boutique PR firms representing a variety of celebs, hotels, small businesses and restaurants, and for the Institute for Children and Poverty, and in Canada for Wordfest: Banff-Calgary International Writers Festival, the Liberal Party of Alberta, the Calgary Food Bank and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
With a history volunteering for ACAD, Feed the Hungry, Women in Need, and as a Board Member of The Calgary Mountain View Constituency Board of Directors, Ellen has acquired extensive experience building strong networks and partnerships with stakeholders in government, corporate, and non-profit organizations.
Currently, Ellen is the Communications Director for the Kensington Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ), an Ambassador of the Calgary Folk Festival’s Secret Sound Society, a member of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra’s Club Wolfgang and a member of ATB’s Emerging Leaders Network. Ellen currently volunteers for the Calgary Drop In Centre and the Brenda Stafford Society and sits on the Board of Directors for Decidedly Jazz Danceworks (DJD) and Dress for Success.
