Contemporary Calgary - Erik Olson: In the Garden
September 25 - February 15 | Contemporary Calgary 701 11 St S.W.
Contemporary Calgary is excited to share 'In the Garden', a series of large-scale paintings that began during the early months of the pandemic in Düsseldorf. Inspired by Germany’s historic Hofgarten, these works explore the space between order and freedom, reality and imagination. Animals move, waters reflect and solitary figures pause in moments of reflection, inviting you into a world that is both familiar and surreal.
The garden in Erik Olson's paintings is a threshold, a space for imagination and transformation. Through vivid colour, light and perspective, Erik hopes to create a place where viewers can explore both the outer world and their inner landscapes.
Come see the series in person and experience the garden for yourself. Learn more about the exhibit HERE. For more information on all the exciting exhibits, visit Contemporary Calgary.

Client Spotlight - Barclay Street Real Estate
Calgary’s commercial real estate market held steady through the first half of 2025, with $1.77 billion in sales with a total of 315 transactions. Multi-residential and industrial assets continue to attract strong investor demand, while retail saw a boost from major transactions such as the $125.5 million Hyatt Regency sale. Land and office activity slowed down largely due to pricing challenges and fewer large-scale deals. Looking forward to the second part of 2025 with fewer headwinds. Barclay Street Real Estate's President and CEO, David Wallach, is confident the strength of current fundamentals will drive a powerful second half for the investment market this year.
